I think William Francis MALTBIE may be the following:
(Civil War List. Ohio) "William F. MALTBIE, Rank, Private, Age 24.
Date of entering service April 20, 1861. Period of Service 3 months.
Remarks. Mustered out with Company Aug. 18, 1861. He was in Co. F,
20th Regt. Ohio Volunteers Infantry which was mustered in April 27,
1861, at Columbus, Ohio, and mustered out Aug. 18, 1881, at Columbus,
Ohio. Off. Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio in the War of
the Rebellion, Vol. I p. 418 (1861-6). (p.407) Enrolled Co. F, at
Lima, Ohio, Apr. 20, 1861. It was ordered to Camp Goddard, Janesville,
Ohio."
I also find a "William F. MALTBIE, University of Michigan, degree
in medicine, 1869, died at Lima, Ohio, 1905."
